My great grandmother’s birthday is coming up in March! (Well, she isn’t technically MY great-grandmother. She is my half-uncle’s grandmother. She’s not blood related to me at all. ) She is going to be 90! So we’re throwing her a huge party. And I had forgotten that I had volunteered (until my aunt emailed me yesterday) to make the invitations. Like, 30 of them. So off to Hobby Lobby I went, buying cardstock and ribbon, cupcake decorations, ink, embossing powder and an embossing heat tool (I’ve done this stuff before, but never actually owned one of my own! So it will be nice to have it in my crafy collections…). I spent close to $80. Which was probably INSANE, but whatever. I have a lot of extras for other crafts and projects down the line…
This is what I’m working on:
Send junk food my way…I only have 24 more to go!
By popular demand, I am posting a picture of my caterpillar so far. Note…I have already frogged this particular caterpillar. I didn’t like the way the yarn felt ,and the first ball started off all wonky and looked like crap compared to when I got to section number 3. I will post the new one once I actually get past the first ten rounds. But you get the idea. Also, the pics were taken with my mobile camera, so not so fantastic quality…
While taking a momentary break from the caterpillar front, I have started another little project. I had no idea that it would end up being this small. Stupid me. It’s going to be a little weiner dog!
A very colorful one at that! In my hand, as you can see, is half of a finished body for a doxie. Tiny little toy it will be….I found the pattern on Etsy. I think next time, I will use a heavier yarn and larger needles. The pattern called for sport weight DK and size 3 needles, which is what I’m using. Holy crap teeny!
More to come as I go.
Made a wristlet washcloth to hold soap for those who are weak on one side of their body and can’t manipulate soap and washcloth separately (notice the wrist thing so they don’t drop the soap as easily).
I better get an A.
But the best project of all today? WHILE I SHOULD HAVE BEEN DOING HOMEWORK? BUT REALLY REALLY REALLY NEEDED SOMETHING TO GET MY MIND OFF THE STRESS??
I made this rocking purse from a pattern I had found online. I got materials for two, because the first one was mostly for practice (so cheap to make!). I can’t wait to start the next one!
