My great grandmother’s birthday is coming up in March! (Well, she isn’t technically MY great-grandmother. She is my half-uncle’s grandmother. She’s not blood related to me at all. ) She is going to be 90! So we’re throwing her a huge party. And I had forgotten that I had volunteered (until my aunt emailed me yesterday) to make the invitations. Like, 30 of them. So off to Hobby Lobby I went, buying cardstock and ribbon, cupcake decorations, ink, embossing powder and an embossing heat tool (I’ve done this stuff before, but never actually owned one of my own! So it will be nice to have it in my crafy collections…). I spent close to $80. Which was probably INSANE, but whatever. I have a lot of extras for other crafts and projects down the line…
This is what I’m working on:

Send junk food my way…I only have 24 more to go!
Recently, I found out that for my internship, all I’ll be wearing for 6 months (and even beyond if I get hired in!) is a black top, khaki pants, and black shoes. Kind of boring. Now if anyone knows anything about working in rehabilitation, it will be near impossible to wear a ton of jewelry to add some excitement and dimension to the outfit. So I’ve been on the look out for cute little brooches and pins. They are small, shouldn’t get in the way, and many are colorful, which I NEED. I need color in my life!
I’ve been unable to find what I really want in stores, so I’ve been scouring etsy. Then, just before I made a purchase the other day, I remembered that Kerri had a store at etsy! I also had recalled her mentioning one day on Twitter, that she had made new ruffly pins!
I ordered the one she had in stock…then asked about different colors, to which she replied by sending me pictures of the ones she had! OMG, I was in love with them ALL. I nearly bought them all, too.
All I all, I ended up with 5. I still haven’t told Dan about these purchases, either… Hehe…
Anyway, they came in today! While this isn’t the best picture, there wasn’t any good light to get them the way I would have liked them! (She also sent a cute little gift bag; I’m totally storing these in there!)
Aren’t these dreamy??

Pretty olive green, bright yellow, plum, bright blue, and bright pink (it looks red, but it’s totally not!)
Thank you, wishcake, for the lovely pins! And thank YOU for being a lovely friend! I can’t wait to start wearing them. Now I just have to figure out which one to wear first…Until I have to wear the drab colors, you can bet that I’ll be breaking these out even well before that.
I have had issue after issue with my other template and have switched back to a temporary one. While a few of your have offered your services to help me create a new one, my former designer, my brother, offered to make me a new one for FREE!
I guess he couldn’t figure out the issues either. The biggest problem is that we weren’t able to recreate some of the issues everyone was having. Sometimes you couldn’t see things correctly, or you weren’t able to comment. He and I had gone over the site using a few different browsers and still, we had no problems.
So while you lovelies have been alluring in your quest to get me to hire you, I can’t beat free — and besides, I love the template he had made for me. I know he’ll do a good job this time around, too! I’m curious to see what’s up his sleeve.
No telling when a new look will be up. Just enjoy this borrowed one for now!

I am disappointed that I couldn’t get a better picture of my hair. There is a lot more BLONDE highlights in it. :p I am going to go through another round of highlights to actually get to the color you see here. Gotta love the bedroom lighting…

You can’t see them that well, but they’re there…
Uh. I’m sorry. I’ve disappeared for a few days. It’s not like I forgot I had a blog. It’s just that I haven’t been able to come up with anything to say. Hmm….
So…what’s going on in my life this week?
- I didn’t weigh in this week. Sorry. Not going to happen. By looking at myself and they way clothes are fitting, I may have lost some weight. But I’m not interested in finding out just yet. I’m gauging my weight loss on this amazing dress I’m supposed to wear to a wedding in March. To be honest, if I lose more than 5 pounds, I’ll have to have it taken in. It fits me PERFECT right now. Like PERFECT PERFECT. It was too tight when I bought it in December.
- I get braces put on today. In about 3 hours. I’m a nervous WRECK.
- I have a lot of reading to do for school. I don’t feel like it. Dang it.
- Dan’s mom had a spill at home broke a bone or two, particular the large bone in her arm…the radius.
- We are now scheduled to go up to see his parents this weekend to help his mom get some things done around the house and such. Not like his dad can’t do it (wait…why can’t he??)…But Dan wants us to help out.
- I’m missing the Michigan Blogger Meetup because of this. I’m frustrated. Bummed I don’t get to meet a few people. But we all live in Michigan. I suppose there’s a chance that I’ll be able to fix up something and will be able to meet them eventually! Though I am a tad frustrated that I bought a really cute shirt to wear.
That’s about it. More later…. I’ll let you have a look at my metal mouth, perhaps.
