I’m being punished by karma. Finally let myself do some summer clothes shopping this month, take a vow to not buy anything new for the next few months so we can SAVE a little cash….When I had to go and visit the dentist today.
So…
I don’t know entirely what’s going on. The nerve of the tooth that has the crown on it is not infected. But just in case its getting infected I’ve been given a run of antibiotics. The dentist’s biggest concern is my thing with teeth grinding and clenching at night. My cheap little mouth guard (yay, Walmart) isn’t doing the job. But the bill for a bruxism guard special made for my mouth? Oh only $425…Which my insurance would cover 50% of. Except that between cleanings, xrays for this problem tooth, then the CROWN for said problem tooth, I’ve got through my annual benefit of $750 for the year. It won’t renew until August. But I won’t be renewing the insurance because I’ll be on Dan’s insurance in October. He and I are trying to figure out the whole mess…Since I get insurance from the school, we’re going to make sure I am at least covered during the gap between mid-August and October 2.
Anyway, not going to go with the guard right at this point. It is an option and we HAVE to get it done. It IS a need. Its essential. Not only is grinding and clenching the cause of this fractured tooth to begin with (and other’s I have had fillings in), but I also seem to be grinding the crown right into my gumline. @#$)@#* Ouch.
Which leads to the problem that maybe as my tooth has been trying to heal from the crown situation…It hasn’t been able to because I’ve been aggravating it OVER and OVER and OVER again.
I’m seeing an advanced dentist in a couple of weeks (as my dentist does not do certain procedures)…for an evaluation for a root canal. After the crown was put on. I HATE THE DENTIST. I DO NOT WANT SHOTS IN MY MOUTH. I really hope though, that they can just get rid of the nerve so I can stop being in so much pain everytime I eat and drink. They will drill a teeny hole in the crown and somehow get the root out. However that’s done. Vacuum? Ha…
Until the 16th of April…I’m all good. 10 days worth of antibiotics and 15 nights worth of Tylenol 3 to help with that annoying pain of mine.
I think that Tylenol is actually kicking in now. Sweet….Off to dream land I go….
