Today was a life changing day…  Seriously. Very much so.

I had one of my first advising meetings in regards to decide where to do my clinical experiences. Also, I learned about the deadlines for making these decisions. For this fall’s location? I have to list my preferences by March 20th. Which is next Friday. Ok, not so bad….

Then came the deadline for June – December 2010: April 24th. What year?? OH! 2009!! THAT’S ALL.

I have a little over a month to try and decide where I want to do clinical work. Which basically means now is the time I get to choose where the start of my career BEGINS. Because most of the time that fieldwork leads to a position. Being hired. SOMETHING. Something BIG.

So…in the meantime, I was looking to meet with that one Professor of mine….to get some ideas for where to go for my second set of fieldwork….I met with him today right AFTER that meeting.

He has advised me for my first choice this fall, to work with adults, even though that is NOT my choice. Because they may or may not end up letting me work with pediatrics for BOTH sets of levels 2’s. (I know all these numbers mean nothing to all of you…I’m not sure how else to explain it…Dang it.)

Whatever. He knows people. He can help get me into places, give me the recommendations I need, do the cold calling for me to find out if they will even accept students for fieldwork, etc.

SO….now is the time to choose….to decide where to go. What to do….

And Dan I have been talking about this since we first met. About where I was planning on going someday. Where WE would want to go someday.

We’re going to leave Michigan. Yes, yes we are.

This is big and this is exciting all at the same time. VERY exciting! I can’t believe that in a little over a year we could be there. HOLY CRAP-OLA.
